The Stonemen began with a simple conviction. The best natural stone is worth going to find — and worth choosing in person, not from a catalogue an ocean away.
For more than 25 years we've done it the long way. We travel to the quarries, stand on the stone, and bring back only what earns its place. What you specify from us has already been seen, handled and chosen by the people who put their name to it.
The difference
Going direct to the quarry lets us see how a block weathers, how the veining truly runs, and whether a colour holds across a whole pallet — the things only the stone itself can show you. We buy straight from the source, so the knowledge that shapes your specification is always first-hand.
It takes longer, and that's the point. It's also the reason the stone that arrives on site is the stone you were promised.
The selection
Every stone is judged by hand before it ever leaves for Australia. Colour, grain, finish and structure, weighed up on the spot, in the light of the quarry, before a single crate is loaded.
Every piece is chosen in person, and we only ship stone we'd lay in our own homes. That care is the quiet difference between close enough and exactly right.
Where it comes from
Our range is drawn from some of the finest quarries on the planet. Italy, Greece, Portugal and Spain, through Turkey, Morocco, Egypt and Indonesia, to Brazil and China. Each region gives stone a character all its own.
We go where the best stone is, and we always go in person.
Why it matters
When the sourcing is done properly up front, the specifying gets easy. You're choosing from a range that has already been vetted by the people who travelled to get it.
The finish on the sample board is the finish that lands on site — consistent from selection to delivery.
The team
We're a small crew in Brisbane who care — maybe more than is reasonable — about getting stone right. You'll deal with the same people every time. The ones who picked the material, who know where it came from, and who'll give you an honest steer on the right stone for the job.
Founder
The founder, and the expertise the whole business is built on. Twenty-five years in natural stone have made Steve one of the most respected names in the trade, with an eye for quality that catches everything. Every stone in our range has met his standard.
Architecture · Design
Meagan brings extensive experience in architecture and beautiful residential design. She works hand in hand with architects, designers and homeowners to match every project to exactly the right stone, turning a vision into a specification that lands perfectly on site.
Operations · Logistics
Runs the engine room. The warehouse, dispatch and the specialised transport that moves stone across QLD, NSW and VIC, picked, crated and delivered in full and on time.
Commercial · Sourcing · Finance
Keeps projects commercially sound from quote to completion. Pricing, sourcing support, and the financial side of getting the right stone delivered on spec and on budget.
How we work
We go to the quarry, inspect the material in person, and select stone at the source. Always in person, always at the source.
We help you match the right stone to the right application, with honest advice on finish, wear and care, from concept to specification.
We crate and move it ourselves on specialised transport across QLD, NSW and VIC. Picked, protected and delivered in full.
